Step 1: Clean and Strip
We begin with a meticulous hand wash to remove dirt, bugs, wax, and surface residue. Sensitive components, including flight controls, are carefully removed or shielded using high-grade aluminum and protective coverings.
Next, we apply a non-acidic, eco-friendly chemical stripper to safely remove old paint and contaminants. This environmentally conscious approach ensures thorough cleaning without compromising your aircraft’s structural integrity or finish.
Step 2: Prep and Prime
Any remaining paint or primer is removed through expert sanding, including special attention to composite surfaces. During this stage, we also perform necessary bodywork, such as dent repair and fiberglass restoration.
After preparation, we complete a three-stage surface treatment:
- Hand-wash with alkaline soap
- Chemical etch on all aluminum surfaces
- Application of alodine to create a corrosion-resistant aluminum oxide layer
We then apply a smooth, even coat of epoxy chromate primer, ensuring ideal adhesion for the finishing layers.
Step 3: Basecoat Application
A high-gloss, professional finish begins with the careful application of 3–5 mils of premium polyurethane basecoat, ensuring proper coverage and long-lasting brilliance.
Step 4: Design Scheme Application
Our design specialists hand-lay your custom paint scheme, incorporating any stripes, logos, or branding details. Every line and element is crafted with precision, ensuring that the final design matches your vision perfectly.
Step 5: Final Coat and Colors
